Denver International Airport also known as DEN is the 3rd largest international airport in the world. It has the longest runway for public use in the US. It is situated in the exterior of northeastern area of Denver Colorado and is run by County and City of Denver. It is 40 km (25 miles) from downtown Denver. It’s the largest and busiest airport in the US not operating non stop flights from and to Asia. It is a major hub to the low budget carrier Great Lakes Airlines and Frontier Airlines. It’s the 2nd largest hub to United Airlines and the focal city to Southwest Airlines. Many international carriers like Air Canada, Lufthansa, Aeromexico and Mexicana run flights to their major hubs from Denver. It serves many destinations in Costa Rica, Mexico and Canada.

The airport has a distinguished white tensile designed roof that resembles the snowy Rocky Mountains during winter. The roof is supported by steel cables that resemble the ones on the Brooklyn Bridge known as pedestrian bridge that connects the terminal to Concourse allowing commuters to view airplanes taxing straight beneath and also provides them a comprehensive view of the high plains towards the east and Rocky Mountains towards the West.

The Airport has 3 concourses. Concourse A can be accessed by pedestrian bridge as well as the underground rail system. To access Concourses B and C one has to utilize the underground rail system.

The RTD (Regional Transportation District) runs 5 bus routes namely the regular airport express bus route, one Limited bus service between the airport and different locations all over Denver, Boulder and Aurora metropolitan areas. There are schedule bus services available to Fort Collins, Colorado. There are van services that stretch right into Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado ski and summer resort.
